Darlene Hampton - Owner / Creative Director Darlene Hampton has a long and loving relationship with the arts, childhood education, and the community of the bay area. Darlene has taken her unique way of looking at how children learn – through imagination, art and play – to develop The Creative Learning Loft. The Loft is designed to inspire growth, curiosity and the love for learning in children. Darlene is a qualified teacher of K-3rd grades. She is proud to be the motivation behind a platform for creative ways of learning. During the last 9 years CLL has continued to expand children's development, community involvement and has implemented a sustainable, edible garden; each year offering the children and families of CLL new and exciting Art and Science programs. This year field trip advisers are bringing samples from the around the world for culture, arts and crafts; while additionally working with local puppeteer and working craftsmen. Darlene resides in Redwood City with her husband, Mark, and their cat, Asha. Darlene is the past chair of both the Filoli Art Committee and The Filoli Children's Tea, and has served as the Co-chair at the Filoli Fall Festival. Darlene maintains her connection to Filoli gardens by working with their archive committee, photographing their magnificent works of art. “Create, Motivate, Elevate”. |
Team Members The Creative Learning Loft team are at least 25 years of age and enjoy the same philosophy; Learning Through Play. Our instructors are certified in Early Childhood Education, and our staff hold 12 ECE units. All our staff are CPR Certified, we have background clearance and meet all Health and Safety requirements. |
Mark Hampton - Co-Owner / IT Specialist Mark comes to The Creative Learning Loft with high qualifications. Working with the Bay Area advocates, Mark realized the need for a higher level of interaction and one-on-one help for the local children. Using his extensive knowledge of computers and love of science, Mark brings his skills to the Computer and Science Lofts. Mark is a Software Architect, and is the creative mind behind our Computers for All program. Mark is also our general problem solver. |
