Darlene Hampton - Owner / Creative Director
Darlene Hampton has a long and loving relationship with the arts, childhood education, and the community of the bay area.
Darlene has taken her unique way of looking at how children learn – through imagination, art and play – to develop The Creative Learning Loft. The Loft is designed to inspire growth, curiosity and the love for learning in children. Darlene is a qualified teacher of K-3rd grades. She is proud to be the motivation behind a platform for creative ways of learning. During the last 9 years CLL has continued to expand children's development, community involvement and has implemented a sustainable, edible garden; each year offering the children and families of CLL new and exciting Art and Science programs. This year field trip advisers are bringing samples from the around the world for culture, arts and crafts; while additionally working with local puppeteer and working craftsmen.
Darlene resides in Redwood City with her husband, Mark, and their cat, Asha. Darlene is the past chair of both the Filoli Art Committee and The Filoli Children's Tea, and has served as the Co-chair at the Filoli Fall Festival. Darlene maintains her connection to Filoli gardens by working with their archive committee, photographing their magnificent works of art.
